Reed Property & Construction is seeking a skilled Asset and Estate Surveyor to join their team on a temporary basis in South London. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Building Surveying and stock condition surveying, with a proven track record of resolving complex property challenges.

About the Role:

The successful applicant will be responsible for verifying Planned Replacement Requests, handling complex complaints, and conducting thorough stock condition surveys to ensure the longevity and maintenance of our housing stock. Key responsibilities include:

  • Investigating complaints within the region and providing detailed outcome reports
  • Conducting stock condition surveys to maintain asset lifecycle replacements and ensure value for money
  • Performing sample validation and auditing on external consultant stock condition surveys
  • Carrying out pre-condition surveys and post-inspection surveys where applicable
  • Collaborating with multiple stakeholders, including Consultation & Commercial and Procurement teams, as part of the S20 consultation process
  • Updating the asset management database with accurate stock condition and planned works information
  • Supporting improvement/alteration applications, liaising with internal & external stakeholders, and conducting inspections
  • Working with external building consultants, designers/architects, and other specialists to assist in submitting planning/conservation applications for major planned works
Requirements:
  1. Degree-level building qualification or equivalent
  2. Extensive experience in Building Surveying & stock condition surveying
  3. Experience working with Housing Associations, local authorities, or other relevant sectors
  4. Proven track record of resolving complex property challenges

Hourly rate: £35 per hour. We estimate an annual salary range of approximately £72,800 based on full-time work (assuming 40 hours per week). However, this may vary depending on individual circumstances and does not include benefits or overtime pay.
