The Building Surveying team at Grosvenor are dedicated to the long-term stewardship of a unique portfolio of properties across London. As a Senior Building Surveyor - Estate Custodian, you will be responsible for preserving the past, controlling the future, and supporting the company's sustainability objectives.

You will be part of a team of forward-thinking professionals who are passionate about delivering exceptional building surveying services and technical advice. Your key objectives will include:

  • Providing building surveying services to maintain and improve the performance and quality of the portfolio, while protecting the heritage and architectural quality of the Estate.
  • Engaging with stakeholders and customers to deliver exceptional service and satisfaction.
  • Driving fee income generated from building surveying activities to contribute to the team's profitability.
  • Identifying and presenting opportunities to secure premiums from customers' alterations.
  • Implementing best practices in accordance with Grosvenor's approach to building surveying and asset management.
  • Improving climate resilience and contributing to the company's sustainability objectives.

As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for core building surveying activities, including approval of alterations, schedules of dilapidations, planned maintenance, and other professional surveying work. You will also manage and enforce the Estate Management Schemes, policies, and procedures.

Key Requirements:

  • MRICS qualified with at least five years of relevant post-qualification experience.
  • Proven knowledge and experience in historic buildings, materials, and conservation methods.
  • Knowledge of Landlord and Tenant law and an understanding of lease covenants.
  • Diligent, self-motivated, and organized.
  • Demonstrable customer service skills and active stakeholder engagement.
