Temporary Head of Initial Teacher Education

We are delighted to collaborate with a reputable Higher Education Institution in search of a highly skilled education leader to spearhead their Initial Teacher Education programme. This challenging yet rewarding role presents an exceptional opportunity to grow professionally in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
Important Information:
- Approximate Salary: £58,000 - £68,000 per annum (dependent on location)
- Flexible working hours available
- Opportunity to work in a hybrid setting, with at least 2 days on campus
- Immediate start required
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate expertise in managing Primary or Secondary PGCE Programmes, with a solid grasp of the current DfE regulations and the Initial Teacher Education sector.
Core Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with programme leaders to guarantee adherence to ITE quality standards.
- Maintain close ties with tutors to monitor curriculum delivery across programmes.
- Support the department head in meeting recruitment, retention, and satisfaction targets for students.
- Work with partnership leads to establish effective mentoring practices.
- Ensure efficient implementation of student progression tools.
