As a Hydraulic Modeller/Engineer, you will join a multi-disciplinary team with a national remit to work with various clients, including water companies, on major projects. You will be part of a team that develops cutting-edge digital services for clients.

Job Summary:

We seek to recruit wastewater modellers to join our Water and Wastewater Asset Planning Team in Derby due to continued growth in workload. The successful candidate will join a team of modellers, engineers, GIS specialists, and programmers, playing a key role in delivering schemes for clients, including water companies, local authorities, and developers, with potential involvement in international projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop sewer system models to investigate deficiencies and generate outline solutions.
  • Develop 1D and 2D models to investigate flood risk and flooding mechanisms.
  • Analyse sewerage-related operational data and hydraulic model root cause analysis.
  • Support development of technical reports and other project deliverables.
  • Undertake site asset surveys for physical and condition assessments.
  • Prepare and adhere to health and safety risk assessments.

Requirements:

  • BSc/BEng/MEng degree level in engineering, geography, GIS, science-related subject, or equivalent experience.
  • Previous demonstrable experience in wastewater modelling using InfoWorks ICM.
  • Experience of InfoWorks 2D/ICM, InfoNet/InfoAsset.
  • Experience of GIS software: QGIS, MapInfo, or ArcGIS preferred.
  • Good understanding of the UK water industry.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Good written and verbal communication.
  • Proactive self-starter.
  • Desire to learn and develop technically and work towards a professional qualification.
