Richmond, Greater London, United Kingdom Richmond Adult Community College Full time
About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Maths Educator to join our team at Richmond Adult Community College. As a Maths Educator, you will be responsible for teaching Maths to a range of learners, including those with GCSE, Functional Skills, and community and outreach classes.

You will work closely with our Programme Manager for Maths to develop learning programmes and resources, including those related to the Multiply initiative. This will involve designing courses that make Maths relevant to local residents, working with employers to upskill staff, and collaborating with parents to help their children with Maths.

Your duties will include course planning, preparation, marking homework and classwork, and course administration, including monitoring and supporting learners to complete Personal Learning Plans (PLPs). You will also prepare students for internal and external assessments and provide advice and information about Maths courses to learners.

You will work with your colleagues to ensure high standards in teaching, learning, and assessment, and high levels of customer satisfaction. You will teach an agreed number of hours annually and provide a role model of teaching excellence.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to hold a Degree in Maths or a related subject, as well as a full teaching qualification. You should have experience of teaching Maths, preferably in an adult setting. You should be able to teach up to GCSE level and Functional Skills level 2, but there may also be opportunities to teach across Entry levels and Level 1.

You should have experience of delivering skills-based, non-qualification courses, and some experience of RARPA would be an advantage. You will be expected to work across both our Parkshot and Hillcroft campuses, and to deliver courses online through Microsoft TEAMS.

You will be expected to complete the administration associated with these courses and to attend team meetings at least once a term during an academic year.
