Local SSAFA Liaison

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership and ensuring compliance with SSAFA regulations. They will also support and guide volunteers in office holder roles, as well as recruit new volunteers to sustain the branch.
The role involves maintaining data processing and storage in line with SSAFA's policies, as well as building relationships with regional and central office staff, local voluntary organisations, and other stakeholders.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Oversee awareness-raising initiatives to inform potential clients, volunteers, and supporters about the branch's services.
- Provide timely reports and information to SSAFA's Central Office.
- Organize meetings, including an AGM, branch meetings, committee meetings, training sessions, etc.
- Support salaried branch staff and ensure effective line management arrangements.
- Resolve complaints in accordance with SSAFA's Complaints Policy and procedures.
Requirements:
- Friendly and approachable individuals with some experience in coordinating people and admin.
- Able to lead and manage a team of volunteers.
- Respectful and non-judgmental attitude towards beneficiaries, their families, other agencies, and SSAFA colleagues.
- Willingsness to learn basic digital skills.
- Ability to send and receive emails using your own SSAFA email address.
- Willingness to use our online case management system.
- Reliability and ability to maintain confidentiality and data protection.
- Ability to travel to meetings or events as required.
- Good written and spoken English.
Estimated Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 per annum (dependent on location and experience)
