Job Title: Senior Embedded Software Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join our team at NewOrbit Space. As a key member of our electronics team, you will play a crucial role in the development of our air-breathing electric propulsion technology.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a pioneering space technology project, developing a system that will redefine satellite operations in ultra-low Earth orbits. You will be responsible for designing and implementing software for our flagship satellite, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance, reliable solutions for mission-critical aerospace applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop embedded software for our air-breathing electric propulsion system
  • Collaborate with the electronics team to integrate hardware and software components
  • Develop and maintain device drivers based on device datasheets
  • Implement testing and verification frameworks for embedded systems
  • Work with build systems such as CMake for managing project builds and dependencies
Requirements
  • Advanced degree in Electronics, Physics, Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in embedded software engineering
  • Deep knowledge of embedded systems, including digital and analog electronics
  • Experience with full lifecycle development, including testing and verification
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electronic schematics
  • Experience with containerization and virtualization, including Docker containers
  • Version control experience with GIT, GitHub, or GitLab

Application Process

Our interview process consists of four stages. The initial stage involves a call with Alex, followed by two interviews with our founders, Anatolii and Ruslan. If you progress successfully through these stages, you will be invited to complete a set of technical tasks, which will be reviewed and discussed during the fourth and final interview. If feasible, we would also like to invite you to our facilities in Reading as part of the final interview.
