Culinary Apprentice

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Commis Chef Apprentice at London South East Colleges. This is an excellent opportunity to start a career in the culinary field and work in a dynamic and fast-paced kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities- Support the kitchen operation for BR6, a sixty-cover restaurant, and the connected Bakehouse and Terrace area.
- Work flexibly within a team environment and be allocated a range of duties and responsibilities.
- Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are maintained at all times.
- Prepare and cook dishes to specifications, using fresh and seasonal ingredients.
- Monitor kitchen equipment and report any faults to the Head Chef or senior kitchen team.
- Ensure safe storage of equipment and supplies, and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Perform stock checks and inform supervisors of depleting stock.
- Label food items for storage and follow the F.I.F.O storage system.
