Job Title: Cost Management Professional

St. Modwen Homes is seeking a highly skilled Cost Management Professional to join our Commercial team in the Southern region.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a seasoned professional with a strong background in commercial management to lead our Commercial team in the Southern region. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all commercial aspects of our projects, working closely with the Design & Delivery Teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage all commercial activities, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Deliver St. Modwen's Commercial strategy and objectives across multiple projects.
  • Identify training and personal development required for the Commercial team.
  • Deliver and report robust Risk and Opportunity / Profit Improvement Plans across projects.
  • Manage procurement buying to achieve programme and budget requirements.
  • Act as the single point of contact for all commercial, legal, financial, and administrative issues with suppliers and contractors.
  • Approve supply chain payments on or before cut-off dates.
  • Monitor weekly WIP and manage to prevent slippage.
  • Contribute to financial appraisals, utilising industry/historic knowledge.
  • Work collaboratively with Senior Sales, Senior Technical, Contracts Managers, and Customer Care managers.
Requirements:
  • Min. 10 years post-graduate experience in the relevant Commercial area.
  • Higher education industry discipline relevant qualification.
  • RICS and/or MCIOB accreditation.
  • Previous experience in leading and developing several Project Commercial teams.
  • Strong commercial, legal, technical management, and financial skills.
  • Strong professional network.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Full valid driving licence.
