Job Title: Portfolio Director

Location: Manchester, Greater Manchester/North West Region

Reports to: Portfolio Team Director

Salary: £110,000 - £120,000

  • Investment and portfolio team members at all levels.

Forge Talent is partnering with a reputable PE house looking to recruit a new Portfolio Director. Reporting directly to the Portfolio Team Director and working closely with the Investment Committees, the role focuses on creating value, providing strategic support, and occasionally minimising losses.

The successful candidate will offer hands-on guidance, challenge strategies, and leverage their professional network to optimize investment outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Value Creation: Prioritise value generation and loss minimisation through direct input on restructuring, M&A support, bolt-on acquisitions, new initiatives, and exit strategies.
  • Performance Monitoring: Deliver robust monthly and quarterly performance updates for individual companies and the consolidated portfolio.
  • Transaction Support: Assist the Investment Team with large or complex transactions to ensure smooth portfolio management.
  • Investment Papers: Prepare documentation for investment committees on follow-on funding or changes to investment terms. Ability to manage and plan time with minimal supervision.
  • Business Partnering: Demonstrable track record in driving profitable business growth through turnaround, restructuring, M&A, or organic expansion.

  • Portfolio Management: Experience in managing a portfolio of private equity or venture capital investments.
