We are seeking a highly skilled Safety Investigator (Contract) to join our team at Boeing Defence UK. As a key member of our C-17 International Field Services Safety Management team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our operations.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and lead Local and Safety Investigations in response to occurrence reports, ensuring timely and effective results.
- Support the tracking and monitoring of investigation recommendations and actions, providing critical insights to inform our risk mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with Safety Officials and MoD Safety Investigators to conduct joint investigations, fostering a culture of transparency and cooperation.
- Provide Safety Investigation inputs and metrics into relevant Safety Action Groups, driving informed decision-making.
- Support the development and sustainment of a strong Positive and Just Safety Culture within the UK C-17 programme, promoting a culture of safety excellence.
- Support Safety communication briefs to management, leadership teams, and the workforce, ensuring clear and effective communication.
- Support the management of C-17 occurrence reports, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Support the production of promotion campaigns and material based on investigation findings, showcasing our commitment to safety.
- Support the delivery of SMS training for all C-17 on-site staff, promoting a culture of safety awareness.
- Formal training in Investigation principles, with experience in using civil and/or military safety reporting tools.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to produce and deliver succinct presentations to Senior Management and the workforce.
- Experience in using common safety tools, such as Risk Registers and Bow Tie, including the use of Incident XP for safety investigation results.
- Aircraft maintenance/operational experience of no less than 5 years.
- Formal Safety Management Systems training and experience.
- Experience in mentoring and coaching.
- Current legal authorisation to work immediately in the United Kingdom.
