About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assistant Manager to join our team at Spark of Genius, a leading residential child care provider in Scotland. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the well-being and development of young people aged 10-18 with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work in a positive, respectful, and empowering way with all young people to promote good relationships and encourage achievements.
  • Participate in and encourage the participation of young people in domestic tasks to develop self-care skills.
  • Write review reports, risk assessments, and contribute to care plans.
  • Liaise with parents and partner agencies to ensure the best interests of young people are respected and promoted.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Wide knowledge of the behaviors displayed by children and young people and an understanding of intervention strategies.
  • Working knowledge of legislation in relation to child care, including National Care Standards and Children (Scotland) Act 1989.
  • Knowledge of policy and procedures in relation to residential child care.
  • Understanding of child development and safeguarding principles.
  • SVQ 4/SQF 9 Social Services (Children and Young People) and HNC in Social Care or equivalent.
