As a skilled Healthcare Support Worker at Schoen Clinic York, you will be part of a fast-paced and dynamic team providing exceptional care to patients with eating disorders and associated co-morbidities.

The successful candidate will assist nursing staff in implementing care plans, participating in the development and implementation of daily activities, and establishing therapeutic relationships with patients.

  • Assist in the implementation of care plans in accordance with NICE guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of mental health acts, mental capacity acts, safeguarding responsibilities, and human rights.
  • Establish and maintain effective therapeutic relationships with patients.
  • Undertake regular physical observations of patients as directed by nursing staff.
  • Support and supervise patients during community leave and mealtimes.
  • Liaise with Staff Nurses, Occupational Therapists, and Multidisciplinary Team members regarding unit activity.
  • Report any concerns to Staff Nurses in a timely manner.
  • Work within the Health and Safety policies and guidelines of Schoen Clinic.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of safeguarding principles in all interactions with young people and their families.

Requirements for the position include a good standard of education, ideally NVQ level 2 or equivalent, and the ability to demonstrate good interpersonal skills. Additionally, the successful candidate should possess good verbal and written communication skills, be able to maintain professional boundaries with patients, and have experience working in a healthcare setting.
