Senior Consultant - Cost Assurance Specialist

Join Turner & Townsend Group as a Senior Consultant - Cost Assurance Specialist and contribute to delivering high-quality cost assurance services to our clients. As a key member of our UK Infrastructure team, you will work closely with our clients to review and scrutinize actual incurred costs, driving supply chain improvement and efficiency for major programmes and projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review construction contractor systems, controls, and processes to provide a view on their ways of working, using industry intelligence to build a view on best practice.
  • Analyze and understand complex construction contracts, including NEC3/4 and ICE Bespoke.
  • Perform testing of data and information using smart techniques and tools, such as data visualization and trend/pattern analysis.
  • Produce written findings reports that deliver key findings, recommendations, and messages in a succinct and professional manner.
  • Foster good quality working relationships with clients and those being reviewed, built around trust and professionalism.
  • Engage with the supply chain to take them on the journey of assurance and encourage collaboration at project/programme level.
Requirements:
  • Assurance or audit experience in a construction, commercial, or accountancy setting.
  • Construction industry technical matters, such as different procurement routes, disallowed cost areas, target price setting, and calculation of pain/gain amounts.
  • Contract Management experience, preferably with NEC3/4 (Option C, E).
  • Assessment of accuracy and entitlement to cost.
  • Change management and forecast control.
  • Data analysis skills, with the ability to review and draw insights from large quantities of data in various formats.
  • Report writing skills, with the ability to communicate complex messages succinctly.
  • People and organizational management experience, with the ability to work in a team environment and handle a variable workload.
  • Presentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage with a multitude of stakeholders.
  • Professional scepticism, with the ability to challenge in a professional and constructive way to safeguard the completion of our services.
