The Clinical Services Director role is responsible for leading the Medical Staff services team. This includes providing direction and leadership in all areas of Medical Staff services support and the credentialing process.

  1. Manage the assessment of appointments and reappointment to the Medical Staff, as well as delineation of clinical privileges and associated credentialing functions.
  2. Work closely with the Medical Staff to ensure accuracy of appointment, reappointment, FPPE and OPPE documentation.
  3. Maintain the integrity of the system-wide computer-based physician information system and ensure staff are trained according to established policies and procedures.
  4. Effectively manage projects and personnel in systems development.
  5. Develop and implement annual goals in accordance with the organization's objectives and regulatory requirements.
  6. Establish and maintain departmental policies and procedures related to daily operations.
  7. Supervise staff to ensure they perform job duties accurately and within established timelines.
  8. Hold regular meetings to review and resolve problems, provide information, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  9. Develop and manage capital and operating budgets for the Credentials Department.
  10. Maintain ongoing relationships with credentialing software representatives, implement software updates, and make recommendations for efficiency and compliance.
  11. Collaborate with clinical leaders to develop and maintain privileging that meets Federal, State, and Accreditation requirements.
  12. Demonstrate a working knowledge of standards and regulations to ensure compliance with credentialing applications, forms, and reports.
  13. Attend Credentials Committee and Medical Executive Committee meetings, prepare agendas and files, and maintain minutes.
