This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic Wheelchair Service team at Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as a highly skilled practitioner. You will play a vital role in delivering exceptional care by assessing and implementing bespoke wheelchair solutions tailored to each client's unique needs.

About the Position

Your responsibilities will include conducting thorough assessments to ensure the optimal selection of wheelchairs and seating options for each client. This may involve working in various settings, such as clinics, community environments, and clients' homes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive assessments to identify clients' specific needs for wheelchair configurations and seating arrangements.
  • Provide expert support across diverse settings to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Implement effective postural, pressure care, and seating strategies based on the Oxford assessment approach.
RequirementsQualifications and Education
  • A Diploma or Degree in occupational therapy/physiotherapy.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council.
  • Training in moving and handling procedures.
  • Ongoing professional development in related fields.
Experience and Skills
  • Prior experience working with children in a physical capacity.
  • Ability to work autonomously as a skilled practitioner.
  • Experience supervising junior staff and students.
  • Proficiency in manual handling techniques and equipment.
Remuneration

The salary range for this role is £35,745 - £43,041 per year, based on your level of experience.
