We are currently seeking an experienced CAD Manager to join our UK design team at Avove Limited, a leading expert in providing cutting-edge and sustainable engineering solutions for utilities infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to work on challenging and exciting projects designing excellent services and solutions for our wide client base, including water and wastewater;

This is a permanent position and will be of a hybrid nature ideally based in or around our Birmingham office; however, we are open to receiving applications from candidates from across the UK to be based at one of our other regional offices or on a remote basis.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and developing our CAD capability, providing advice and guidance on all CAD and BIM related matters. This includes supporting resource management of the CAD team, developing internal CAD standards and ways of working, and ensuring the technical quality of the CAD team output.

  • Manage the development of our CAD capability and provide advice on all CAD and BIM related matters
  • Support the resource management of the CAD team and develop internal CAD standards
  • Ensure the technical quality of the CAD team output
  • Provide guidance on best methods and practices to meet technical and project requirements
  • Support the Design Manager, project Design Leads, and other team members in undertaking a wide range of design-related tasks

As a key member of our team, you will also be required to undertake CAD design and modeling activities using Autodesk Civil 2D and 3D, as well as other third-party software packages where appropriate. You will train our teams on CAD matters, assist with the production of project documentation, and contribute to business development by producing technical content for PQQs and tenders.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • Computer literacy and conversance with Autodesk Civil 2D, associated 3rd party packages, and MS Office suite
  • Basic project management understanding in a multi-disciplinary project environment
  • Experience in managing CAD standards and technical outputs for multiple team members
  • Understanding of civil design activities in a multi-disciplinary project environment
