Job Title: Paediatric Dietitian Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Paediatric Dietitian Specialist to join our team at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust. As a Paediatric Dietitian Specialist, you will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide specialist clinical dietetic support to children with special needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Providing specialist clinical dietetic support to children with special needs in a variety of settings, including inpatients, outpatients, and special schools.
  2. Working autonomously and within multidisciplinary teams to optimise nutritional care.
  3. Managing a caseload of children with special needs, including those requiring home enteral feeding.
  4. Participating in community MDT feeding clinics and attending TAC and other meetings as appropriate.

As a Paediatric Dietitian Specialist, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of patients and families, and to contribute to the development of our paediatric dietetic service. You will be expected to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and to be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

We are looking for a Paediatric Dietitian Specialist who is passionate about providing high-quality care to children with special needs. If you are a motivated and experienced Paediatric Dietitian looking for a new challenge, we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist clinical dietetic support to children with special needs.
  • Work autonomously and within multidisciplinary teams to optimise nutritional care.
  • Manage a caseload of children with special needs.
  • Participate in community MDT feeding clinics and attend TAC and other meetings as appropriate.

Requirements:

  • HCPC registered dietitian.
  • Experience of paediatric dietetics is an advantage, but relevant adult dietetic experience with transferable skills is also acceptable.
  • Ability to communicate complex information fluently, confidently, and effectively to a diverse range of people.
  • Ability to demonstrate a practical and sensitive approach and flexibility in working style when applying clinical judgement to complex clinical issues.
  • Ability to create rapport and professionally manage relationships with colleagues, patients, and carers.
