Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled CNC Mechanical Engineer to join our in-house CNC machinery team in Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK. As a key member of our Engineering department, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our range of CNC lathes, milling machines, and other equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Operate CNC flatbed lathes, pillar drills, milling machines, and bandsaws to produce high-quality products.
  2. Perform planned and reactive maintenance on CNC machinery to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  3. Solve minor issues on machines and identify, log, plan, and carry out preventative repairs.
  4. Conduct regular machine diagnostics and perform basic welding operations as required.
  5. Occasionally operate a forklift to support the team's workload.
Requirements:
  1. Qualified at NVQ level 2 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  2. Experience operating manual/CNC flatbed machines, mainly threading programs and tapered threads.
  3. Manufacturing background is desirable but not essential.
  4. Strong work ethic and team player with excellent communication skills.
