Financial Services Assistant

Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to contribute to the Salary Sacrifice and Travel team within Financial Services at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
This role reports to the Assistant Technical Accountant and is responsible for managing all aspects of the Trust Hire and Pool Car Schemes, including informing and advising employees on using the system, registering and setting up staff, and dealing with any queries.
The post holder will also be responsible for providing detailed information on the appropriate lease car scheme to employees, checking and managing employee eligibility for the schemes, and obtaining quotes for the Trust Business Lease Car scheme.
Additionally, the role involves ensuring that the Trust's Salary Sacrifice Schemes are administered in accordance with customer requirements and HMRC rules and regulations.
Main Duties of the Job
- Manage the Hire and Pool car schemes, including informing and advising employees on using the system, registering and setting up staff, and dealing with any queries.
- Provide detailed information on the appropriate lease car scheme to employees, checking and managing employee eligibility for the schemes.
- Obtain quotes for the Trust Business Lease Car scheme and order vehicles for individual staff members that qualify, as well as departmental pooled vehicles, including commercial vehicles.
- Ensure that the Trust's Salary Sacrifice Schemes are administered in accordance with customer requirements and HMRC rules and regulations.
- Provide adequate administrative support to internal and external customers at all times.

Person Specification
Qualifications
- The post holder will hold or be studying towards a current Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) Level 4 Qualification or have equivalent experience and knowledge.
- The post holder will have GCSE Grade 4 or higher in Maths and English.
Skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Can negotiate with other staff over contentious situations using tact and diplomacy.
Knowledge & Experience
- Knowledge of salary sacrifice schemes and taxable benefit in kind.
- Experienced user of financial IT software and Microsoft Office 365 applications.
