About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to oversee the maintenance of a safe, reliable, and cost-efficient fleet of vehicles in the North of England and Scotland. As an Automotive Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring proper use and care of physical assets, preventing equipment failures, controlling costs, managing external vendor relationships, and working closely with auto mechanics and internal customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule and review preventative maintenance inspections to ensure mechanics adhere to safety, regulatory, and appearance standards.
  • Analyze equipment or vehicle system failures to determine root causes and resolve problems, and plan and coordinate equipment repairs with internal and external groups.
  • Ensure adequate inventory levels to support business processes.
  • Adhere to purchasing limits, expense approval procedures, and equipment disposal guidelines to remain within cost plan.
  • Review and approve automotive expenses.
  • Determine employee training needs to produce continuous development plans.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and resolve individual and group performance issues.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of mechanical fundamentals, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair to UPS vehicles.
  • Ability to manage equipment repair and oversee the correction of problems with tools, machinery, and other standard technical equipment.
  • Ability to manage inspections, physical assets, and working relationships with vendors.
  • Good communication skills to collaborate across departments in UPS.
