Building Control Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Statutory Inspector to join our team at ENGINEERINGUK. As a key member of our Building Control department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and compliance of construction projects across London.
About the Role:- You will be responsible for delivering statutory building control functions, including pre-application meetings, plan checking, site inspections, and visits to various locations.
- With a focus on health and safety, you will create standards that guarantee these projects are safe, compliant, and sustainable.
- Delivering all building control functions and services, including external contract, growth, and resilience work.
- Making decisions on works, applications, notices, and other matters controlled under the Building Act 1984 and Building Regulations 2010.
- Liaising with other partner agencies and authorities as required in the process of carrying out your duties and responsibilities.
- Upselling our building control services and specialist services, including other associated provisions.
- A comprehensive background in building control inspection, general building surveying, design, project management, or other similar specialist services, ideally within a local government authority or building control body.
- Thorough knowledge of current building control legislation, associated guidance, and issues relevant to the post and a good practical problem solver.
- Excellent experience of administering all forms and levels of building regulation applications.
- Knowledge and understanding of operating building control software systems.
- Able to undertake all duties in accordance with the building control quality management system and building control performance standards policy adopted.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- A competitive basic salary of £60k+ per annum.
