Job Overview


Vox Network Consultants is seeking a highly skilled Business Continuity and Emergency Planning Strategist to support the Head of Civil Contingencies in carrying out emergency planning and business continuity functions.


About the Role


The successful candidate will be responsible for deputising for the Head of Civil Contingencies, leading on and delivering emergency planning and business continuity projects, and ensuring Harrow Council is prepared for emergencies in line with the Civil Contingencies Act 2004.


Main Responsibilities



  • Support the development and implementation of emergency plans and business continuity policies.
  • Assess training and exercising requirements of Emergency Response Officers and council staff.
  • Liaise with council officers, emergency services, outside agencies, partners, and voluntary groups.
  • Serve on committees, forums, and working parties established for emergency planning and business continuity.
  • Develop, implement, and deliver appropriate training and exercises.
  • Attend evening and weekend events and respond to emergencies outside normal working hours.

Requirements


To succeed in this role, you will need:



  • Detailed knowledge of emergency planning, business continuity, local government, and the Civil Contingencies Act 2004.
  • Experience of researching and considering information to inform and develop plans/policies.
  • Experience of building relationships at all levels within an organisation and/or with external partners.
  • A high standard of education or significant experience in Emergency Planning & Business Continuity.

Salary and Benefits


We offer a competitive salary, estimated to be around £50,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition, you will receive a range of benefits, including a contributory pension scheme and opportunities for professional development.
