About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Highways Support Specialist to join our team at Essex Highways. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to support the delivery of various projects from inception through to completion.

As a key member of our construction team, you will work closely with experienced professionals to ensure that all projects comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation.

You will be responsible for assisting with the delivery of several schemes, utilizing internal staff, shareholder resources, external consultants, and contractors as required. This may involve direct site supervision, including issuing permits to work and conducting site inductions when necessary.

In addition, you will be responsible for administration and checking of risk assessments, method statements, progress report writing, stage reviews, and updating scheme process documents in accordance with contract principles and timescales.

We are looking for an individual with 4 GCSEs or equivalent at or above grade (C) or (4), including Maths and English, as well as BTEC Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment or equivalent. Completion of an apprenticeship in the construction industry, preferably in highways, is desirable. Possession of CSCS, NRSWA, and SMSTS cards is also beneficial.

The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary of £55,000 per annum, plus benefits including sick pay, life assurance, employee assistance programme, and pension scheme.
