Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as key point of contact for consultants, ensuring timely and effective communication.
  • Accurately transcribe clinical letters using Winscribe, meeting deadlines and maintaining high quality standards.
  • Prioritize tasks efficiently, utilizing judgment and initiative to manage competing demands.
  • Establish and maintain administrative systems and databases, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
  • Manage incoming mail, results, and reports, as well as attend and organize meetings, taking minutes as required.
  • Ensure RTT patient data quality is accurate, addressing any discrepancies promptly.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, handling consultant queries and visitors, managing diaries, and making telephone calls in a confidential manner.
Requirements
  • GCSE standard in English and Maths (A-C) or equivalent through vocational training.
  • NVQ level 3 in Administration or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 2 years' secretarial experience, including audio typing skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and relationship skills, maintaining confidentiality, sensitivity, and empathy when interacting with patients and colleagues.
  • Frequent use of VDU equipment and ability to manage time effectively, displaying initiative and working within prescribed deadlines.
  • Able to use judgment to make decisions, solving problems and enquiries efficiently.
  • Demonstrate awareness of prompt timekeeping and good attendance, remaining calm and cooperative under pressure.
Salary and Benefits
