Job Title: Maintenance Engineer - Electrical or Mechanical Bias

Proactive Personnel Ltd is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer with an electrical or mechanical bias to join their team at a large and reputable plant in Telford. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary, excellent overtime availability, and additional earning potential.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing breakdown cover on automated fast-moving equipment, as well as the service and repair of production equipment in line with FMCG policies and safe working procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Continuous improvement of equipment
  • Day-to-day attention to Electrical/Mechanical breakdowns and changeovers
  • An active position in generating ideas for improvement
  • Finding the root cause of any production problems and finding ways to prevent the problems happening again
  • Electrical fault-finding
  • Safe installation of machinery and control panels
  • Total hours and work pattern: Days Monday-Friday
Requirements:
  • Experience within a manufacturing or production industry essential
  • Experience with conveyors essential
  • A team player with plenty of ideas and enthusiasm and able to work under pressure
  • Open-mindedness to learn new techniques & technology
  • Electrical or Mechanical ability essential
  • PLC knowledge desirable but not essential
  • Formal qualifications to NVQ, C&G or ONC
  • Time served Electrical apprenticeship advantageous
