About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanic MET Technician to join our team at Stoneacre Motor Group. As a key member of our Bodyshop team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality vehicle repair work to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities
  • Remove and refit mechanical and electrical trims/panels/components on vehicles.
  • Ensure stripping and rebuilding work is carried out in a professional and correct manner, with final quality checks undertaken in line with applicable standards.
  • Dismantle vehicles ready for the panel area.
  • Carry out inspections and order replacement parts as required.
  • Re-assemble the vehicle with new parts to pre-accident condition.
  • Strip and fit components, bodywork, and trim elements.
  • Carry out all MET duties required within your remit.
  • Follow manufacturer repair methods to return vehicles to pre-accident condition.
  • Carry out fault-finding and diagnostics.
  • Perform road testing (if applicable).
  • Dismantle and reassemble damaged vehicles in accordance with the prescribed repair method.
  • Ensure all jobs are completed within estimated timescales.
  • Check that all parts are ordered as per estimate, to ensure the repair can be completed without delay, returning all unused parts to the parts department for credit.
  • Awareness and adherence to all necessary standards and Health and Safety procedures.
About You
  • Ideal candidate will hold NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in mechanical repairs. An ATA qualification would also be an advantage. Lapsed training can be recertificated.
  • Experience in stripping, refitting vehicles.
  • Ability to work efficiently within a fast-paced Bodyshop and take responsibility for the quality and quantity of your own work.
  • Capable of working to the highest standard and demonstrating sound, up to-date knowledge of vehicle repair techniques.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills.
