About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Procurement and Payment Technician to join our team at Thames Valley Police Headquarters in Kidlington. This is a temporary assignment with an opportunity to work in a hybrid environment after the initial period.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be computer literate, and have a strong understanding of Microsoft Office applications. They will also be able to manage and prioritize workloads effectively to meet strict deadlines.

Responsibilities and Skills
  • Process Purchase Orders, Requisitions, and invoices efficiently, ensuring compliance with Financial and Procurement Rules & Regulations and Contract/Purchasing Policies.
  • Handle customer and supplier enquiries professionally, providing guidance on matters related to Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Purchasing.
  • Manage the Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable systems, inputting or scanning invoices/credit notes, and electronically filing documents to ensure compliance with data retention regulations.
  • Investigate anomalies and discrepancies in the quality of information report (AP Forensics) and resolve them promptly to ensure timely payments.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, customers, and other departments to provide exceptional service and maintain effective relationships.
  • Authorise Requisitions/Purchase Orders up to an agreed limit, as per Chief Constables Financial Regulations.

The salary for this role is approximately £32,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on experience. We offer a competitive benefits package, including opportunities for professional development and career growth.
