An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated individual to develop their career in the specialized area of community nursing. This role is now available in the Thame/Princes Risborough area to become a Community Nurse within a newly formed team. We are welcoming highly motivated and effective team players, committed to providing a high-quality nursing service within the District Nursing field. We offer a full skills development and preceptorship program.
Main Duties of the JobAs a Community Staff Nurse, you will work within a locality team of District Nurse Team Leaders, Community Staff Nurses, Therapists, Assistant Practitioners, and Healthcare Assistants to meet the needs of complex patients in the community and avoid admissions to acute settings. This includes medication administration, end-of-life care, managing deteriorating patients, complex and simple wound care, venepuncture, and utilizing advanced assessment skills and clinical nursing skills. We nurse people with various conditions in a holistic manner in their own homes and in residential care settings.

Person SpecificationEssential Criteria
- Registered Nurse or student nurse awaiting confirmation of NMC registration.
Desirable Criteria
- Committed to own professional development to enhance practice.
- Post-registration education and extended skills, e.g., intravenous drug administration, compression dressings.
Experience
- Demonstrate experience post or pre-registration placements in relevant clinical areas: care of the elderly, community, orthopaedics, neurology, respiratory, palliative care, and long-term conditions.
Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge
- To be able to communicate effectively with patients, relatives, carers, and other professionals.
- To be able to care for patients without prejudice related to gender, religion, or disability.
- Able to work under pressure.
- Ability to manage own caseload.
- Knowledge of the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
- Knowledge of the Data Protection Act.
