Job Title: Senior Commercial and Procurement Officer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Commercial and Procurement Officer to join our team at Croydon Council. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of a strategic procurement service, focusing on the council's critical procurements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver procurement solutions that provide cashable savings and process efficiencies for the organisation.
  • Provide commercial input into the development of medium to higher risk/complex business cases.
  • Lead the end-to-end tender process for assigned procurements, ensuring full compliance to standards and practices for tendering.
  • Support the promotion of the compliant use of procurement and purchasing (P2P) processes & systems.
  • Make recommendations based on early engagement with suppliers, stakeholders, and using lessons learned from other relevant contracts.

Requirements:

  • Working towards MCIPS qualification.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of current and prospective public procurement legislation.
  • Detailed understanding of the procurement and commissioning lifecycle.
  • Ability to use procurement systems and support the tender process.
