Job Description:

FryerMiles Recruitment is partnering with an education institution to recruit a Chief Financial Officer on a permanent basis.

About the Role:

This is a senior leadership position that involves providing financial oversight, compliance, and staff leadership while delivering strategic insights to the Senior Leadership Team, Trustees, and stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead the financial strategy, ensuring sustainability and compliance
  • Oversee financial procedures, systems, and corporate services, including finance, risk management, legal, and governance
  • Liaise with external and internal auditors and manage annual audits
  • Ensure efficient financial administration of non-curricular activities, trips, lettings, and third-party income
  • Lead on the maintenance of risk registers and advise on financial risk management
  • Secure and manage government funding
  • Oversee payroll preparation (with the Payroll Officer) and compliance with pensions and Inland Revenue regulations
  • Support the HR Manager with financial administration of staff appointments, leavers, and other HR-related financial tasks
Requirements:
  • Relevant experience within the education sector
  • Strong management skills
  • Ideally a fully qualified accountant
  • Able to commute into the office 5 days a week

The successful candidate will be rewarded with a competitive salary of £72,500 per year, reflecting the importance of this role in supporting the education institution's financial operations. This is a permanent, full-time position based in Rickmansworth.
