About the Role

Job Title: Functional Skills Tutor

Pearson TQ is seeking a qualified Functional Skills Tutor to deliver English and Maths qualifications to Royal Logistic Corps and Royal Engineer apprentices. The ideal candidate will have a teaching qualification, experience in delivering Functional Skills, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Teach English and Maths Functional Skills qualifications at Levels 1 and 2, including conducting initial assessments, diagnostic assessments, and administering exams.
  • Manage Functional Skills caseload to ensure learners complete in a timely manner, including organizing course bookings and issuing Joining Instructions.
  • Update learners' e-portfolios with evidence of learning, achievement, feedback, and learning plans.
  • Complete Speaking and Listening assessments at Levels 1 and 2, including recording and paperwork for the Awarding Body.
  • Provide face-to-face learning support and motivate learners in their studies and remote support when required.
Requirements
  • Relevant teaching qualification, such as Cert Ed, PGCE, DTLLS, CTLLS, or PTLLS.
  • Minimum Level 2 qualification in English and Maths.
  • Experience delivering Functional Skills (English and Maths) at levels 1 and 2.
  • Experience providing face-to-face and remote support to learners using various delivery methods, including technology, such as Zoom.
