Job Title: HGV Mechanic (Day Shift)

Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled HGV Mechanic to join our team on the day shift in Bedford. Key Responsibilities:

Diagnostics and Repair:

• Perform diagnostics and repairs on HGVs, handling a range of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems with precision.
• Identify and replace worn or faulty parts as needed, ensuring availability of critical components to maintain efficient workflow.

Preventative Maintenance:

• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to reduce vehicle downtime and ensure fleet readiness.

Compliance and Safety Inspections:

• Carry out thorough safety inspections to ensure all vehicles comply with industry regulations and company standards.

Documentation and Record-Keeping:

• Maintain accurate records of all repairs, services, and inspections in accordance with company policies and DVSA requirements.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Experience:
  • Previous experience as an HGV Mechanic or in a similar role, with a solid understanding of HGV systems and repair techniques.
• Certification:
  • NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or an equivalent qualification is preferred.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, with a strong aptitude for mechanical repairs and health & safety best practices.
