About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Technical Author to join our team at Lionbridge. As a Technical Author, you will be responsible for creating high-quality technical documentation for armoured land vehicles. Your expertise will be essential in defining and assuring the technical content, collaborating with customer engineering contacts, and driving a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess tasks, resolve queries, and ensure robust source data ready for work initiation
  • Author accurate technical documentation, following guidelines and best practices to deliver high-quality products
  • Work with the Tech Lead and Project Manager to meet project milestones
  • Identify, communicate, and address project risks promptly
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards, customer specifications, and Lionbridge authoring processes
  • Foster a 'right-first-time' ethos, driving excellence in the team
  • Drive continuous improvements in simplification, processes, and efficiency
  • Work closely with the Production Team and Training Manager to enhance performance

Requirements:

  • UK nationality and DBS level clearance or no known reason why clearance may not be granted
  • Extensive technical authoring competence gained in a technical documentation environment within engineering
  • Proven experience in creating and compiling Army Equipment Support Publications (AESP), demonstrating an understanding of military standards and specifications
  • Familiarity with heavy armour, including armoured land vehicles, with an ability to understand and document complex mechanical systems and components
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong English language capability
  • Strong stakeholder management and conflict resolution abilities
  • Demonstratable experience of being proactive, adaptable, and resourceful
