Intertek is seeking a skilled Laboratory Technician to join our team at Saltend Chemicals Park. As a key member of our laboratory operation, you will be responsible for preparing, testing, and reporting submitted samples using set methodologies. This will involve the use of basic and advanced instrumentation and the application of analytical techniques.
The successful candidate will be based within our laboratory operation, which runs 24/7, 365 days a year. To ensure service continuity, the shift rota will include working nights, weekends, and bank holidays. We are looking for a motivated individual who can work unsupervised and effectively manage their time.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Ensuring work conducted follows the agreed procedures as set out in the local Management system.
- Assisting in the maintenance, servicing, and calibration of equipment in accordance with relevant standards.
- Carrying out testing in accordance with documented standards and test methods.
- Maintaining accurate records of testing and sample observations and calculations.
- Producing reports for samples tested and input of sample results into the Computer system.
- Assisting with audits in accordance with external accreditation and internal standards as and when instructed to do so, whilst ensuring compliance is maintained.
- Investigating abnormal results to confirm or correct the situation, and if necessary, alerting the appropriate staff.
