Senior Accounts Payable Specialist

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team at our Financial Shared Service Centre in Speke, Liverpool. As a key member of our AP team, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, travel expenses, and payments, while maintaining compliance with KPIs.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and verify approximately 500 incoming invoices per week from suppliers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Respond to queries within 48 business hours, providing timely and effective support to internal stakeholders.
- Make accurate payments to suppliers, aiming to achieve 90% on-time payment rate, while reviewing and approving employee expense reports via SAP Concur.
- Maintain issue logs for allocated entities and collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve issues within agreed timescales.
- Reconcile key supplier statements and take corrective actions as necessary.
- Support stakeholder and supplier escalations, liaising with relevant departments to ensure timely resolution.
- Contribute to the Masterdata process, including amending and creating new supplier accounts, ensuring internal stakeholders are informed of progress and expected resolution dates.
- Monitor and review KPIs against agreed targets, identifying areas for improvement and implementing measures to meet these consistently.
- Provide support to the business via teams and telephone calls regarding P2P issues, ensuring timely resolution and keeping all parties informed of progress.
- Liaise with the Procurement team to ensure a smooth end-to-end P2P process.
- Review GRIR balances and drive resolution of aged items.
- Support the adoption of suppliers submitting all invoices via email.
Requirements
- A minimum of two years' experience in a similar AP role.
- Good IT skills, including knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office packages.
- Meticulous attention to detail and exceptional planning and organisational skills.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
- Ability to take initiative and a practical approach to problem-solving.
- Effective relationship-building skills with key stakeholders and suppliers.
- Ability to work well in a team and collaborate with others.
- Positive and flexible approach to work.
