Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our team at CAN. As an Accounts Assistant, you will be responsible for processing purchase invoices and payments, liaising with suppliers, and ensuring compliance with our approval process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process purchase invoices and payments in accordance with CAN's policies and timescales.
  • Liaise with suppliers to resolve invoice and payment queries.
  • Match supplier invoices to purchase orders and enter data onto our Eque2 system.
  • Ensure invoices are approved prior to payment in line with our approval process.
  • Raise and follow up on invoice queries with suppliers.
  • Reconcile supplier statements.
  • Filing of invoices and delivery notes.
  • Make payments against invoices in line with supplier terms and ensure compliance with our approval process.
  • Act as the point of contact for supplier payment and account queries.
  • Assist the project administrator with waste record management and assist the accounts team with month-end close down and accrual procedures.
  • Calculate and submit VAT returns.
  • Provide cover and assistance for other staff within the accounts department as required.
Requirements
  • A proven track record in a payable/purchase ledger or similar role.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Good attention to detail.
