Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated SEMH school team. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with SEMH needs to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning and delivery of tailored educational activities to meet the needs of students with SEMH needs.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, helping them to overcome challenges and build confidence.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning environment that promotes social, emotional, and mental well-being.
  • Support students with personal care needs, if required, and collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to the development of a safe and inclusive environment for all students.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is desirable.
  • A patient, empathetic, and positive attitude, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, with a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
