About the RoleThe Group Planning and Reporting Finance Team is a pivotal team within the Finance Community of The Very Group. We are responsible for providing insightful and consistent management reporting to the Exec Team and Group Board, influencing strategic thinking and facilitating the creation of Budgets, Quarterly forecasts, and Long-range plans.
As a Senior Financial Planning Manager, you will take ownership of all Group Planning and Reporting processes as they relate to cash flow and deliver forecasts with supporting information that is relevant, accurate, and timely. You will work closely with the Treasury team and other stakeholders to ensure that all financial information is accurate and up-to-date.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain the rolling 12-month cash flow forecast process that consolidates the business' functional cash flow forecasts to a group view.
- Drive improvements and create efficiencies to the current 12-month rolling forecast process.
- Facilitate cross-functional information flow between finance business partners and the treasury team to enable effective short-term decision making.
- Ensure opportunities and risks to the cash flow forecast are known, reported regularly, and included within forecasts as appropriate.
- Produce all output commentary relating to cash flow in regular reporting cycles.
- Build and maintain reconciliations required across the business relating to cash flow to scrutinize and reduce variability between data sources.
- Ensure processes are managed to deadline and that financial information is always produced to the highest standard, implementing governance and control frameworks so that group planning processes are accurate and transparent.
- Use experience and judgment to assess the strength and quality of the information provided to your team, directing focus to the matters that require most attention.
- Understand the potential for improvement of planning tools and propose solutions that fully utilize the existing tools (Hyperion and Excel).
- Work cross-functionally to develop a roadmap that sets out an ambition to migrate to an Oracle EPM solution.
- A qualified accountant with more than 3 years post-qualified experience and a proven track record of delivering change.
- Demonstrable organizational skills and experience in managing complex financial processes.
- FP&A experience and comfort working with financial models.
- A driven and determined leader who possesses the social confidence and charisma to develop highly productive stakeholder relationships.
- A strong team player with low ego who can work cross-functionally.
- Commercially focused, placing attention on accounting detail and end-to-end value.
- Proven successes of developing insightful reporting and analysis to use for major decision-making at Exec and Board level.
- Technical ability, strong aptitude for analytical work, preferably having experience with Hyperion/Oracle EPM products.
- Sound understanding of all primary financial statements.
