About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Public Relations Specialist to join our team at The Opportunity Hub UK. As a key member of our communications team, you will play a vital role in implementing integrated PR campaigns and assisting our director in driving impactful communications strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development and implementation of PR campaigns to promote our clients' social enterprises and charities
  • Draft and disseminate press releases, pitches, and other communications materials to media outlets and stakeholders
  • Liaise with clients, journalists, associates, and suppliers to ensure effective communication and collaboration
  • Monitor media coverage, create coverage lists, and generate reports to track the success of our campaigns
  • Develop and maintain media lists, stay up-to-date on industry changes, and identify new opportunities for growth
  • Manage and grow our agency's social media channels, creating engaging content, templates, blogs, and articles to showcase our expertise
  • Update and maintain our company website to ensure it remains a valuable resource for our clients and stakeholders
  • Perform various administrative duties to support the smooth operation of our team
Requirements
  • A degree in Public Relations, Communications, or a related field
  • Some experience in a business setting, preferably in PR, communications, or a related field
  • Strong writing and communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling content and pitches
  • Good organizational skills, including email management and reporting
  • Knowledge of copywriting and editing principles
  • Understanding of social media platforms and their applications in PR and communications
  • An interest in the charity and social purpose sector
  • Basic design skills, with experience in creating templates using Canva or similar tools
  • A willingness to learn and a genuine interest in current affairs
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • The ability to prioritize workloads and meet tight deadlines
  • Basic budget management skills
