Senior Clinical Psychologist in Rehabilitation Services

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Feeding and Eating Disorders Team as a Senior Clinical Psychologist. The team sits within the Mental Health Psychology Stream within Psychological and Mental Health Services PAMHS, working closely with a diverse multidisciplinary team, including psychotherapy, family therapy, clinical nurse specialists, dieticians, psychiatrists, paediatricians, SLT and OT. You will be part of a team of psychologists including an 8b, band 7, assistant, trainee, and placement student and will supervise other psychologists.
The role involves working with children and their families across the full age range, and drawing upon skills, knowledge and expertise across a number of different areas of psychological practice, including paediatrics, neurodevelopmental conditions and mental health conditions. You will be involved in group, CBT, systemic and narrative work, as well as audit and service evaluation projects and leading on developing teaching and training initiatives to improve knowledge, care and understanding for this cohort.

Key responsibilities- Provide clinical psychology services to children and their families, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of feeding and eating disorders.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans.
- Supervise and mentor junior psychologists and other team members.
- Contribute to the development of teaching and training initiatives to improve knowledge, care and understanding for this cohort.
- Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS/HCPC, including clinical psychometrics, eating disorders and lifespan developmental psychology.
- Post-doctoral training and recorded CPD experience and/or further qualifications in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice.
- Registration with the Health and Care Professionals Council as Practitioner Psychologist.
- Formal training in supervision of other psychologists.
- Experience of working as a qualified psychologist.
- Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course and presenting with the full range of clinical severity.
- Experience of working with people with feeding and/or eating disorders.
- Experience of supervising qualified clinical psychologists.
- Experience working with people with intellectual disabilities.
- Experience of working with people with ASD.
- Skills in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment, intervention and management frequently requiring sustained and intense concentration.
- Well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, technical and clinically sensitive information to clients, their carers, and other professionals.
- Skills in providing consultation and support to other professional and non-professional groups.
- Ability to prepare concise, evidence-based, coherent reports summarising large volumes of information from multiple sources.
- Evidence of skilled and productive multidisciplinary team working.
- Ability to identify research needs of service and conduct research.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
Salary: £61,927 to £68,676 a year, per annum inclusive pro rata.
