About Your Opportunity

We are seeking a talented UX Designer to join our team at Northrop Grumman Corp. (AU) in Manchester, United Kingdom. As a UX Designer, you will play a critical role in developing software applications that collect data, analyze it, and enable our customers to make informed decisions.

This is a unique opportunity to work on projects that support national security, and we are looking for individuals who are passionate about UX design and have a strong understanding of user-centered design principles.

Your Responsibilities
  • Design user-centered journeys across digital applications that focus on user needs
  • Conceptualize, iterate, and ideate digital experience designs within a multi-disciplinary team of stakeholders, business analysts, developers, UX specialists, and visual designers
  • Test your designs and journeys with varied and inclusive user groups to validate your ideas and discover improvements through an iterative process
  • Participate in knowledge sharing and collaboration on a routine basis by attending weekly design forums and workshops
  • Present to stakeholders in multi-team project demonstrations
  • Promote UX standards and practices across the wider business and contribute to the internal UX community
Your Experience
  • A varied portfolio that demonstrates the quality of your design thinking and research/testing methods
  • Ability to understand business/stakeholder needs as well as user needs
  • Good communication skills used to present ideas and feedback to help the team understand the user perspective
  • Solid understanding of UX practices within software development
  • Good understanding of accessibility (WCAG 2.1) and inclusive design techniques or a keen willingness to learn
