Job Description

As a key member of the Innovate team, we are seeking a highly skilled Programme Manager to oversee customer-funded initiatives and strategic R&D projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and leading cross-functional teams of engineers and technical personnel to deliver projects on schedule, under budget, and with high quality.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Oversee cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams to complete projects on schedule, under budget, and with high quality.
  • Ensure efficient project management methods are regularly used and prove that the project management procedure is followed.
  • Set an example for your team by hitting goals and providing coaching to those in less senior positions.
  • Establish trusting bonds with clients and internal stakeholders to guarantee that aims and objectives are understood, communicated, and carried out.
  • Precise project scheduling in Microsoft Project, together with publication into the MS Project Server platform.
  • Ensure that the project's scope is well understood, recorded, and maintained in collaboration with the client—internal or external.
  • Determine project risk, problems, and dependencies and attempt to resolve them before escalating the situation.
  • Work together with the finance team to create and track a budget, while making sure that pertinent data, like schedule-derived ETCs and factored risk cost exposure, is available and analysed.
  • Create dashboards for every project you work on and provide the Senior Leadership Team with a monthly status report.
  • Create technical and business-oriented solutions to meet the needs of customers by collaborating with program directors, engineers, and business development.

Requirements:

  • A great deal of expertise overseeing engineering projects from bid to production, with a focus on production, for the whole or a portion of the lifespan.
  • Proven track record of inspiring teams to complete projects on schedule and under budget.
  • Capacity to control scope creep and manage customer expectations.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively at all corporate levels.
  • Capable of solving problems with strength.
  • Good judgement: knowing when to take charge and when to back off.
  • Expertise in using and comprehending project management software, including Microsoft Project, Microsoft Project Server, and other enterprise project management technologies.

Due to the nature of some of the projects you will be working on, you will be eligible, or already hold, security clearance and will be a UK National.
