The Hywel Dda University Health Board is seeking a skilled Administrative Professional to fill a Medical Support role within our Memory Assessment Service Team.

This exciting opportunity requires an enthusiastic and experienced individual to work in a busy administrative environment, providing vital support to medical staff and patients alike. The successful candidate will be required to work on a weekly basis between two sites, with the base location to be confirmed depending on the applicant's preference.

Main Responsibilities

The key duties of this role include acting as the first point of contact for the department, handling queries from patients, GP surgeries, and local pharmacies via phone, email, or in-person. The successful candidate will also use various health board-approved software, including WPAS, Vision, and CarePartner, to manage scheduled clinics, book rooms, update appointments, and maintain records.

In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for attending formulation meetings, taking minutes, disseminating information, and uploading patient outcomes to CarePartner. They will also coordinate, generate, change, and deliver dementia medication for patients in a timely manner, using the Vision system to print, scan, upload, and post daily prescriptions.

The ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, patients, and other stakeholders is essential for this role, as is the ability to use initiative, discretion, and service knowledge to action as necessary.

To be successful in this role, you will need experience of working in a busy administrative environment, preferably within the NHS. You should have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to use Microsoft Office packages, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. You will also need to be proficient in setting up and maintaining spreadsheets, databases, and have experience of handling verbally aggressive calls.

A basic salary of £22,183-£28,869 per annum, dependent on experience, is offered for this role, with opportunities for career progression and professional development within the Hywel Dda University Health Board.
