The salary for this role is negotiable based on experience, but we expect the successful candidate to be remunerated at the higher end of the scale.
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Windows System Administrator to join our client's team on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate will have excellent technical skills and experience in managing Windows Server environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain Windows Server environments, ensuring system availability, performance, and security.
- Perform regular system updates, patches, and backups, to prevent downtime and ensure data integrity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues and outages, using automation tools like Ansible to diagnose and resolve common problems.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure version control best practices are followed.
- Evaluate and implement security controls to ensure compliance with organisational policies and industry best practices.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems, processes, and procedures.
- Automate Windows system administration tasks using Ansible to streamline provisioning, configuration management, and deployments.
- Integrate Ansible with existing CI/CD pipelines and other automation tools to ensure efficient system management and workflow automation.
- Utilize Git for version control of system configurations, playbooks, and scripts.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues in Windows environments.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:
- Excellent knowledge of Windows Server and Windows administration.
- Experience with automation tools like Ansible.
- Strong understanding of security policies and industry best practices.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
