Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Project QS Specialist to join our team at PDA Search and Selection Ltd. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing the contractual, commercial, and financial aspects of our projects, ensuring the highest level of customer care and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Project Management: Support the operations team to maintain project expenditure within budget and in compliance with administrative procedures.
- Quality Control: Quality check invoice details from all suppliers, ensuring customers receive value for money on all jobs carried out.
- Negotiation and Communication: Negotiate and challenge contractors on cost queries when required to deliver excellent service, and ensure effective written and verbal communication of all contractual, commercial, financial, corporate, and operational issues.
- Contract Management: Notify, price, and agree variations within required timescales as set out in the contract documentation and in compliance with commercial procedures.
- Financial Management: Carry out valuations and agree applications for payment at regular intervals as set out in the contract documentation and in compliance with commercial procedures.
- Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and submit regular and accurate cost/value reports in compliance with the laid-down commercial procedures.
- Subcontract Management: Manage the commercial aspects of subcontracts in compliance with commercial procedures, including obtaining quotations, evaluating tender returns, valuing subcontract works, and payment.
- Budgeting and Planning: Prepare a budget cost plan for each project and ensure schedules are completed within agreed timescales and that all necessary paperwork is completed accurately.
- Team Support: Support Commercial at supplier meetings where required.
- Education: Educated to Degree level, surveying.
- Technical Skills: Strong PC literacy, with experience in extracting, collating, and presenting performance data.
- Soft Skills: Excellent planning, organizing, prioritization, and project management skills, with a high degree of flexibility and strategic approach to managing their business.
- Experience: Experience in managing financial budgets, with a high degree of mobility to travel extensively throughout the area, and a full driving license.
