Commissioning Engineer - Heavy Engineering
We are seeking a highly skilled Commissioning Engineer to join our team at Samuel Frank Associates. As a Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for the on-site service and commissioning of large drives systems in a heavy engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commissioning of systems which are mainly inverter drive based, with large motors and complexity ranging from single inverter in a box to multi-bay, PLC-controlled HMI/SCADA-based lines.
- Experienced drives system commissioning engineer with a strong background in heavy engineering motor control systems.
- Implement the commissioning process from initial checks to powering the system, IO checks, inverter drive configuration, dry running, through to wet commissioning trials and initial production support.
- On-site fault finding and retrofit of new inverter drives into existing systems.
- Make modifications to hardware and/or software on site.
- International travel is expected, with an estimated 5-6 trips per year of approximately 2-3 weeks in duration.
- Overtime is paid at a rate of x1.3 for hours worked over during the week, x1.5 on Saturdays, and x2.0 on Sundays.
- A £50 per day uplift is paid for time spent abroad, in addition to all agreed receipted business expenses being claimable.
Requirements:
- Eligibility to work in the UK and gain visas for non-EU countries easily.
- Strong background in heavy engineering motor control systems.
- Experience with inverter drive systems and PLC-controlled HMI/SCADA-based lines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
