Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Geophysicist to join our Quantitative Interpretation (QI) team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring that QI projects are carried out using our advanced well-tie and seismic inversion technology to meet clients' subsurface objectives across multiple geological basins.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Business Development Managers, the Customer Success Team, and the VP Services to develop client relationships and deliver project proposals.
  • Establish project plans, geophysical workflows, and Quality Control (QC) procedures prior to QI inversion project commencement.
  • Integrate geophysical data with geological and petrophysical information to build comprehensive subsurface models.
  • Provide technical direction during seismic inversion projects as required.
  • Perform high-quality Rock Physics analysis, Seismic Analysis, Seismic Data Conditioning, Seismic Inversion, and Reservoir Characterization.
  • Deliver high-quality presentations and reports to clients.
  • Finalize QC of EAME project work, including review by VP Services.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to complete projects to client requirements and the highest technical standard.
  • Influence software development and strategy related to the QI team's performance.
  • Stay current with advancements in geophysical technology and methodologies, applying new techniques to improve exploration and production outcomes.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of oil industry experience in relevant basins.
  • Extensive knowledge of fundamental geophysics, including acquisition, processing/imaging, geophysical signal processing, and inverse theory.
  • Proficiency in geophysical software such as Petrel, Kingdom, or similar platforms.
Qualifications
  • MSc/PhD in Earth Sciences, Geophysics, Physics, or Mathematics.
Technical Competencies
  • Geophysical AVO analysis, including extended elastic impedance.
  • Seismic inversion using multiple algorithms and reservoir characterization.
  • Delivery of high-quality inversion and reservoir characterization results to clients across multiple geological basins.
  • Working knowledge of regional geology, petrophysics, well log interpretation, rock physics, and basic reservoir engineering concepts.
  • Knowledge of Ikon Science software.
  • Creative and open-minded approach.
