Job Summary

As a System Optimization Expert at Thames Water, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient operation of our water distribution system. This is a permanent position based in Ashford Common, TW15 1RU, and involves working closely with stakeholders to resolve low-pressure issues, investigate complaints, and escalate critical pressure points. You will also be responsible for directing technical operational input into engineering and customer-led projects, as well as providing support during unplanned emergency events.

About the Role

This is a Monday-Friday role with 36 hours per week. To succeed in this role, you will need excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiating skills. A thorough understanding of the water industry regulatory measures relating to customer satisfaction, leakage, water quality, customer low pressures, and interruptions is also essential. Additionally, good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders are necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and investigate low-pressure issues, complaints, and escalations.
  • Direct technical operational input into engineering and customer-led projects.
  • Provide support during unplanned emergency events.

Requirements

You will need a strong background in water distribution systems and a proven track record of resolving complex issues. A full driving license and own transport are desirable due to required attendance at meetings across various Thames Water offices. We offer a competitive salary of £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including contributory pension, personal medical assessments, and a wider benefits scheme. You will also receive 26 days holiday per year increasing to 28 with length of service, plus bank holidays.
