Job Title: Head of Science

We are seeking an exceptional Head of Science to lead our efforts in building and communicating the scientific rigor expected of high-quality projects on our platform. As a key member of our team, you will help shape our risk-assessment models and due diligence standards, further positioning Opna as the go-to trusted partner to our corporate and project development partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and analysis of nature-based and technological approaches to carbon reduction and removal
  • Development of frameworks and assessments for carbon removal and reduction projects
  • Leadership and collaboration with the wider team at Opna
  • Communication with clients and stakeholders
  • Integration of scientific knowledge into our product and model
Requirements
  • PhD in natural sciences such as chemistry, chemical engineering, biology, physics, environmental science, or a related field
  • Deep understanding of the carbon removal space with expertise in at least one or more pathways for removal
  • Leadership experience and ability to set strong direction and vision for projects
